In-home cat care

Flexible visits designed around your cat's routine and needs.

Complimentary cat
care consultation
Every cat is different — not just in routine, but in temperament, comfort, and the small details that make them feel secure.
That’s why I offer with a complimentary consultation, designed to understand your cat properly before any care begins. We’ll talk through feeding routines, behaviour, preferences, and anything else that helps your cat feel understood and at ease.
With a background in feline welfare and experience with cats of all personalities, I bring a calm, observant approach that allows each cat to be understood and cared for as the individual they are.

All new clients receive a complimentary cat care consultation.

Cat sitting at home
Most cats are happiest in their own environment, where familiar smells, sounds, and routines remain unchanged.
My in-home cat care is designed to support that sense of security while ensuring your cat is properly looked after.
Visits are unhurried, attentive, and shaped entirely around your cat’s needs.
Daytime care
From £35 per visit
Each visit typically includes:
• Unhurried play, enrichment or quiet companionship
• Fresh food and water
• Litter tray cleaning and hygiene care
• Health and wellbeing check
• Medication administration if required
• Basic home security checks (doors and windows secure, post collected, lights on/off, bins taken in/out if needed)
• Photo and message updates for peace of mind

Rather than fixed "packages", I'll recommend the most suitable rhythm of visits based on your cat's routine, personality and care needs.
Overnight care
From £75 per night
For cats who feel more settled with company through the evening and night, I offer overnight stays in your home.
This provides a continuous, reassuring presence while preserving their normal environment and routine.
Overnight care includes everything in daytime visits, along with:
• Evening feeding and a calm, familiar wind-down routine
• Overnight presence in your home
• Morning feeding and gentle start to the day

This is often chosen for elderly cats, highly social cats, or those who are particularly routine-sensitive.
Extended care & regular support

For clients who require ongoing or longer term support, I offer extended arrangements tailored to your household's needs.
This works particularly well for:
• Frequent travellers
• Demanding work schedules
• Cats who benefit from familiarity and consistency
In these case, I create a simple, personalised care plan so everything feels seamless for your cat, even over longer periods.

Frequently asked questions
What makes your approach to cat care different?
Care is shaped around your cat as an individual — their routines, preferences and temperament. Visits are never simply functional; they are designed to provide companionship, enrichment and an attentive presence while you are away.

Do you care for shy, older or more sensitive cats?
Yes — many cats benefit from a quieter, more thoughtful approach. Whether your cat is reserved, elderly, highly sensitive or simply prefers things done a certain way, care is adapted to help them feel secure, respected and comfortable in their own home.

How long are visits?
Visits are designed to allow time not only for practical care, but for meaningful interaction, observation and companionship. Exact visit lengths vary according to your cat’s needs but they typically range from half a day to a full day.

How does the booking process work?
All new clients begin with an initial consultation in your home. This is an opportunity to meet you and your cat, understand routines, discuss any medical or behavioural needs, and ensure the service is the right fit for everyone.

Can care be adapted for medical needs?
Routine medications and additional support can often be accommodated, depending on your cat’s needs. This can be discussed during the consultation.

Will I receive updates while I’m away?
Yes — updates and photographs can be shared during your time away, so you can feel reassured your cat is safe, content and well cared for.

Are you insured and DBS checked?
Yes — for your peace of mind, The British Cat Nanny is fully insured and DBS checked.

What areas do you cover?
Services are offered across Brighton & Hove and selected parts of Sussex. Please feel free to ask about your location.
