Booking a cat sitting service is built on trust — both in the care of your cat and the respect of your home.
These terms are here to ensure everything runs smoothly, clearly, and with complete peace of mind for both of us.
Bookings & Payment
Bookings are confirmed once dates have been agreed and confirmation has been provided in writing.
Payment details will be shared at the time of booking. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is required in advance of the sitting period.
Cancellations
I understand that plans can change.
Cancellations made with 10+ days notice before the sit will not incur a charge.
Short-notice cancellations may be subject to a fee of 30% of the booking cost, particularly where dates have been reserved and other enquiries declined.
No refund is provided if the booking is cancelled during sit.
Full details will always be communicated clearly at the time of booking.
Veterinary Care & Emergencies
Your cat’s wellbeing is always the highest priority. In the unlikely event of illness or emergency:
— I will make every effort to contact you immediately
— If necessary, I will seek veterinary care using your registered vet or the nearest available practice
All veterinary costs remain the responsibility of the owner.
By confirming a booking, you authorise me to act in your cat’s best interests should urgent care be required.
Access to Your Home
Clear access arrangements are essential to ensure your cat receives consistent, uninterrupted care. You will be asked to provide:
— Keys or agreed access method
— Any necessary alarm or entry instructions
Your home will always be treated with the utmost care, respect, and discretion — and left exactly as expected.
Health, Behaviour & Care Information
To provide the best possible care, you agree to share accurate and up-to-date information about your cat, including:
— Medical conditions
— Medication requirements
— Behavioural traits
This ensures your cat’s routine is followed as closely and safely as possible.
Liability
Every care is taken to provide a safe, calm, and attentive environment for your cat and your home. However, The British Cat Nanny cannot be held liable for:
— Pre-existing health conditions
— Illness or injury that could not reasonably have been prevented
— Unforeseen incidents beyond reasonable control
Right to Decline or End a Booking
I reserve the right to decline or discontinue a booking where:
— A situation is unsafe
— Important information has not been disclosed
— The welfare of the cat, myself, or the home is at risk
This would always be handled with care and clear communication.
