Thoughtful in-home cat care
— a considered alternative to catteries & hurried drop-in visits.
Bespoke cat sitting is not about routine visits. It’s about understanding your cat properly — their behaviour, their wellbeing, and the subtle ways they communicate when something is right or wrong.
I spend time with each of my clients' cats, moving at their own pace, providing companionship, enrichment, and attentive care so they remain safe, settled, and comfortable in their own home.
That’s why I started The British Cat Nanny — to provide a calm, consistent presence for cats who benefit from more time, more understanding, and more care.
Trusted by cats who are, understandably, rather particular

Care, shaped around your cat
Rather than fixed packages, care is always guided by your cat’s routine and personality.
Visits are unhurried and structured entirely around what your cat needs.
Daytime care
Some cats are independent but still benefit from a steady, familiar presence during the day. Others enjoy gentle interaction, enrichment, and companionship on their terms.
Daytime care is flexible and always led by your cat — whether that means quiet company nearby or more engaged interaction.
Care starts from £35 per visit
Extended daytime care
For cats who feel more settled with longer, uninterrupted presence in the home.
This is often chosen for cats who enjoy interaction, need additional reassurance, or simply prefer not to be alone for extended periods.
Everything is kept calm, familiar, and unhurried, with attention adjusted to your cat’s personality and mood.
From £60 per day
Overnight care
For cats who are most at comfortable with someone staying in the home overnight.
A discreet, reassuring stay that maintains their usual routine through evening, night, and morning.
Particularly suited to anxious cats, older cats, or those who do not cope well with being left alone overnight.
Overnight care starts at £75 per night
Truffle & Bailey are indoor cats who prefer ongoing companionship while their owners are away.
A more
considered approach
I take time to notice the small things — sitting quietly if that’s what your cat prefers, and allowing trust build at their own pace.
Every cat has their own rhythm: habits, preferences, and subtle ways of communicating. Some want play, some want space, and some are simply happiest knowing someone is nearby.
My approach is shaped around your cat as an individual, not a checklist of tasks. It’s care that goes beyond the basics, supporting their wellbeing while you’re away.

Squeak loves curling up for a cuddle during visits.
“ Kara has taken care of our cat on multiple occasions and she is just the best. She plays with him, cuddles with him and generally takes such good care of him!
When we come back, he is so relaxed, we can really see he's been well taken care of. On top of that, she messaged us every day with a little picture or anecdote of the day.
